Prior to joining Coronation Capital, he was a Strategic Consultant at PanAfrican Investment Company, a Sub-Saharan Africa-focused private equity firm. Earlier in his career, he also worked in Cape Town, South Africa with Southern Asset Management (now part of MMI Holdings, the South African life insurer) and as an associate at Oak Hill Partners, a NY-based private equity firm. As a public markets investor, Mr. Kponu pursued the launch of Outpost Partners, a hedge fund focused on public equity opportunities in emerging and frontier markets including Sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, Central Asia and Latin America.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Before Outpost, he was a Partner at Para Advisors LLC, a $1B+ AUM special situations hedge fund focused on catalyst-driven investment opportunities across the capital structure.
